Meet Dr. Libby Lowenthal, Birmingham’s Integrative Oncologist

Most oncologists build their career in one place. Dr. Libby Lowenthal built hers across the world. Dr. Libby Lowenthal is an integrative oncologist with deep roots in conventional cancer care. 

She completed her medical oncology fellowship at UAB in 1996, was board certified in 1997, and has additional certifications in lifestyle medicine and nutritional & environmental medicine. She is also a member of the Society of Integrative Oncology.

Dr. Lowenthal has worked collaboratively with radiation oncologists and other disciplines throughout her career. She established integrative oncology practices internationally before bringing that expertise home to Birmingham.

Today she offers supportive, whole-person integrative oncology care that works alongside standard treatment — combining nutrition, lifestyle, and your personal goals.
